The sanctuary is a combination of low lands and a montane forest on a wide expanse of land. The forest serves as a thick layer of protection from wildfires that arises to destroy the region.

Swallows live on the grassland sections of the reserve and a lot of endangered chimpanzees are preserved from extinction and death.
