Apapa Amusement Park is one of the oldest tourist destinations in Lagos, Nigeria. It is a family recreational park located in the heart of Lagos.

The Apapa Amusement park is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the early 1980s and 1990s until it was shut down due to bad management. It was a perfect recreational destination for children excursions, family picnics, church outing etc. It is also famous for its Santa end of the year Christmas events.  It is the perfect spot for all children related games and event until it became a dead zone.

The New Park

The Lagos State government under the leadership of Babatunde Raji Fashola due to his desire to revive tourism in Lagos, Nigeria decided to give it a facelift through a Public-Private Partnership. The partnership gave it a total upgrade and renovation of the facility. This partnership involves a re-build, re-design, finance, operate and transfer.

Apapa Park can easily be mistaken for a place in Dubai or some Arabian country. The architecture, the ambience, the aesthetics are beautiful and there a number of games to play.

The partnership was between the Lagos State Government and a Company Called Crystal Cubes Construction Company. This partnership led to the upgraded Apapa Amusement park in Lagos to bring back its lost glory of the number one family entertainment, relaxation and recreational centre.

The Apapa Amusement park commenced operation in 1976 under the Lagos Lunar Park which was jointly owned by Lagos Island Council, Lagos mainland council and the Improjex, a company based in Switzerland who was responsible for managing and maintaining the park.
